Terry & Scoop (TB)
Scoop and I first came to Silver Fern Farm for lay-up after surgery for a stifle injury. MaryAnn provided the experienced, hands-on care that he desperately needed, and gave me peace of mind knowing he was well-cared for and safe. It was an easy decision to stay! The farm setting is beautiful and the grounds well-kept, the horses calm - MaryAnn tries to match up their personalities when making field assignments. They are fed high-quality feed and hay along with probiotics. The barn is beautiful too with large properly bedded stalls, a heated tack room, very well-equipped wash stall and feed room and soft tiling in the aisle. All the horses receive individual attention so problems are addressed quickly. And they all adore MaryAnn! Also, her husband Hayden is an outstanding farrier - very experienced in corrective shoeing and working with veterinarians to come up with the best solution. Once Scoop had recovered sufficiently from his surgery, Hayden, MaryAnn and my vet evaluated his overall lameness issues and came up with a plan to get him sound. I'm happy to say that going to Silver Fern Farm was a great decision - I'm taking lessons with MaryAnn and having fun - and Scoop is safe and happy!
